What are the CrossFit Games?

“In implementation, this looks like sport. This is revolutionary. It's as distinctive of the program as are the movements and the charter of functionality and variance. Our workouts are competitive events.

The strength and value of CrossFit lies entirely within our dominance of other athletes. This is a truth divined through competition, not debate.”

The Games are over and the results are in!

The Top Female CrossFitter for 2008 is Caity Matter of Gahanna, OH, where she trains with Rogue Fitness. Tanya Wagner took second place and Gillian Mounsey took third.

The Top Male CrossFitter for 2008 is Jason Khalipa of CrossFit Unlimited in Milpitas, CA. Josh Everett came in second, with Jeremy Thiel in third.

The Affiliate Cup was won by the team from CrossFit Oakland.

Congratulations to all the winners and thanks to all the volunteers, spectators, and competitors for a great weekend!

More to Fear: Top Spectator

As if it wasn't bad enough, having to compete against the likes of Speal and Jolie and Dutch and Maggie, now even you spectators had better start working on your game.

Dr. Darrell "Bingo" White is staking claim to the Top Spectator title, so the rest of you guys had better get your game-watching-faces on and come prepared for battle.

I'm a big Bingo fan because I found CrossFit in January, overseas so no affiliate, no trainers, and Bingo was our surrogate coach and trainer through the mainpage comments when we did our first WODs.

Didn't mean to threadjack! that link above has a fatal typo, though: http://www.vcrossfit.com/200805/developing-your-first-pull-ups/

I just linked it because there's a photo of a one-armed L-sit in business attire...

Bingo, are you wearing a BOW TIE ?!?!?! So the un-pointed toes are not the only massive style foul going on here... :-P

By Kirez on June 8, 2008 3:00 PM

Ah, Kirez, Tony got me on the way up. Besides, no self-respecting washed-up ex-football player EVER points his toes (except in the act, that is).

Regarding the bow tie, everybody needs a look; this one just happens to be mine (I'm essentially incognito outside the office without it). But come to think of it, one wears a bow tie because one CAN...
