Thanks a bunch for the update. Can't wait to see the exciting results of such a great competition!
WOW!
So with WOD that is doable in sub 5 minutes, is Speal's 1 minute lead secured him a win?
Too exciting!
We will stay tune FO SHO!!!
thanks for all the updates
Great work Max....3:24 sheesh
Max Mormont is the guy who did a turkish getup with Sevan.
Its gonna come down to Josh or Rick on the mens side.I see these guys doing Sundays workout sub 4min and I dont think Speal can get this done under 5min. Gillian has pretty much got it wrapped up for the women. Just my opinion.
How can you say Jillian has it wrapped up for the women? She goes into the final round with only a 3 second lead....to Tanya who she lost the deadlifts to by 7 seconds. Seems to me like it up in the air for the ladies. Im giving Tanya the edge.
Yeah I see Josh either taking 1st place or 2nd
Excellent updates. Thanks for the info. Maybe next year we can see some video of the athletes.
Josh has done Isabelle in 90 seconds, so I wouldn't be surprised to see him breaking this one in 3 minutes.
Too exciting! Keep it up, CF OMAHA! Get it done, Ricky! You're a beast!
Me and my bum shoulder are going to do heavy front squats in solidarity.
Woulda been nice if at least one of the events took more than 5 min to do. Like, just one long grind workout to at least separate the competitors a bit and make it a bit more balanced for other types of fitness.
RJM, it is balanced. That is the beauty of CF. Events such as clean and jerk 155*30 speaks volumes of an atheletes overall fitness
Any updates? If the heat schedules are adhered to it should be decided by now.
I agree with you RJM. I don't remember the last time I did 4 WODs in a row that were all less than 5 minutes and were all based heavy in weightlifting movements. I certainly wouldn't take it as a general test of my overall fitness without including something related to endurance that takes more than 10-12 minutes. Seems to me that including some sort of chipper, a metcon workout that takes 15+ minutes and includes a combination of gymnastis, weightlifting and run/row/jump rope would make for a more balanced competition. In the 2008 games, if you don't train heavy, you're OUT for sure. I get that there is a metcon load in the Fran and the 30 C&J, but it's definitely different than a longer, more endurance based effort. Its quite possible that the guys in the top 20 would still be in the top 20 with a different final workout, but it would be nice to actually find out...
3 Metcons in a day doesn't test your endurance? You have to be kidding. Maybe you would prefer triathlon over crossfit.
There are always going to be complainers and some body type that is placed at a disadvantage.
What if they put all the WODs in a hopper and the workout turned out to be a 10K? What fun would that be? They hold 10Ks every weekend.
If you want to test your endurance, there are plenty of places to do it. 3 metcons in a day is one way and probably better than a 20 minute filthy fifty or 10k.
I can't wait to see the final results!! We want a win here in Omaha... we are all cheering for you guys!!
Good Luck Ricky, Joe, & Libby!!! We're all Proud of you, & so excited that you're there competing!
I wish I was there yelling for you, & I Cant wait to see the final results!
Go get em' Ricky!! You got this!
CF Omaha-Daymaker
I'm excited for the final results...but I too wanted to see a longer Sunday workout...like a super heavy Murph or something.
gillian is going to take it. she doesnt know how to lose....
RJM- I'm with you. No longer endurance test? 5 min metcons? I'm very surprised.
Just got word that Caity Matter of Rogue Fitness Columbus, took the title to the women's division -- AWESOME JOB Caity!!
you took it to the HOUSE girlfriend!!All the clients at Rogue Fitness are very proud of their athletes.
What a way to REPRESENT-continue having fun
Peace
Carolyn
GREAT JOB CAITY!! Heather and I knew you'd kick a$$! Everyone at ROGUE today, said you had it in the bag. Congrats!
4 Events in 2 days is its own endurance challenge
I think anyone who has times on all of these that are under 4 mins would have a very good filthy fifty time, 10k time...etc. Isn't that why we all do crossfit? We do these short metcons and then try running for the first time in 6 months only to find we've gotten a lot faster. That's been my experience, anyway.
I'm betting on Tanya on the women's side... I saw her compete in Albany, and I think she has a definite edge in strength that will allow her to dominate the 30 C&J's... but of course, only time will tell...
Clippa, Read the previous comments, Caity won apparently.
Now, the Mens results ?????
Waiting....
WAY TO GO CROSSFIT CENTRAL!! You Guys Rock! Can't wait to see the men's final results
Awesome Work CrossFit Central!
WOW!
So with WOD that is doable in sub 5 minutes, is Speal's 1 minute lead secured him a win?
Too exciting!
If Caity really did win, a 1 min lead means nothing. Gillian had a 1 min lead on Caity and if the rumors are true, then that didnt seem to make a diff?

Hey Mike,
My son is a participant at the games and he called and told me Caity won! don't know what you heard, but to my knowledge this is not a rumor
didn't the guys finish 2 hours ago?
who won?
i dont think it was speal
Carolyn,
I was not saying that to discredit you or anything. I have heard nothing about who won, was mearly just replying to an earlier post that was talking about compensating for a 1 min deficit, which i was saying is possible if Caity had won. Sorry for the misunderstanding.
Caity, way to represent Rogue Fitness and the Buckeye State! Mike, Clark and I are SO proud of you!
J and Eric, you guys are amazing!!! The work you put into these games is unbelievable.
Bill-Congrads!
just got word from a guy over there that the mens winner is jason khalipa.
Congrats to all from the Rogue Fitness powerhouse, for going to the games and representing a great place to workout.
