What are the CrossFit Games?

“In implementation, this looks like sport. This is revolutionary. It's as distinctive of the program as are the movements and the charter of functionality and variance. Our workouts are competitive events.

The strength and value of CrossFit lies entirely within our dominance of other athletes. This is a truth divined through competition, not debate.”

Greg Glassman, CrossFit Co-Founder & CEO

What do you know about CrossFit?

CrossFit is the sport of fitness. Roughly defined, CrossFit is constantly varied, functional movements executed at high intensity, continuously increasing work capacity over broad time and modal domains.

CrossFit is FUN! Millions of people worldwide are training using the methods and programming developed by Greg and Lauren Glassman. The focus on excellence demonstrated by CrossFit trainers and participants has generated a return to athletics. American Heritage Dictionary defines an athlete as: A person possessing the natural or acquired traits, such as strength, agility, and endurance, which are necessary for physical exercise or sports, especially those performed in competitive contexts.

CrossFit participants compete against themselves every day to best their previous performance, Personal Records (PR), using the many "Workouts of the Day", or WOD, that are posted on www.crossfit.com, free for everyone to try. Many of these workouts have names, names like Cindy, Michael, Helen, Joshie, Fran and the Filthy Fifty, and are formatted as a stand alone event, repeated yearly on a random schedule.

The CrossFit Games

The CrossFit Games brings together athletes from around the world for a two day competition utilizing WOD benchmarks and several random elements. In 2008, athletes and spectators will gather in Aromas, California July 5th and 6th to share their love of the sport of fitness, and watch their fellow "crossfitters" compete.

The 2008 CrossFit Games is excited to welcome corporate partners that celebrate the growing movement of individual achievement our athletes emulate. The 2008 partnership opportunity gives any company the ability to gain exposure with this growing community. For any company evaluating this opportunity, one need only spend 10 minutes on www.crossfit.com to realize the potential. Below are a few video links of experiences from the 2007 CrossFit Games:
