What are the CrossFit Games?

“In implementation, this looks like sport. This is revolutionary. It's as distinctive of the program as are the movements and the charter of functionality and variance. Our workouts are competitive events.

The strength and value of CrossFit lies entirely within our dominance of other athletes. This is a truth divined through competition, not debate.”

Greg Glassman, CrossFit Co-Founder & CEO
3, 2, 1 — GO!

The Games are over and the results are in!

The Top Female CrossFitter for 2008 is Caity Matter of Gahanna, OH, where she trains with Rogue Fitness. Tanya Wagner took second place and Gillian Mounsey took third.

The Top Male CrossFitter for 2008 is Jason Khalipa of CrossFit Unlimited in Milpitas, CA. Josh Everett came in second, with Jeremy Thiel in third.

The Affiliate Cup was won by the team from CrossFit Oakland.

Congratulations to all the winners and thanks to all the volunteers, spectators, and competitors for a great weekend!

Introducing the Hopper Deck

Born from the marriage of the old-school "deck of cards PT" and the traditional CrossFit concept of the "hopper" workout, an amazing team of artists and CrossFitters has, working closely with Coach Glassman and other CrossFit principals, developed the perfect tool for your travel workouts, your "I need a change of pace" workouts, your affiliate challenge workouts... the Hopper Deck.

Featuring the Heroes, the Girls, and many other workouts.

Enhanced by bad-ass graphics.

These will be available 7 July, and at the Games. Get yours!

Excellent! I can't wait to purchase a deck.

If the Hopper Deck is successful, I hope decks for "puppies" and "buttercups" get produced, too. (Hint, hint).

Fred! You read my mind . . . but with my luck . . . we'd be over in the corner playing Crossfit Uno . . . and I don't want me no "Wild Draw Four". Interesting bit of trivia: I understand in South America they call the game "One".

This hopper deck is awesome. Will the deck be available at the games?

By sevan on June 26, 2008 10:30 AM

The answer is hopefully. We WILL definitely have prototypes on hand at the Games so come find Kelly or John Brown to get a look. But time is tight. If for some reason the production decks don't make it to the Aromas, we will ship orders placed at the Games at our expense.

We're really glad that you three are excited about the decks, it's been a lot of work, but we're proud of the results.

Murph is the Ace of Spades. Nice. The Eagles said the Queen of Hearts is always your best bet . . . somehow I don't think that's the case here . . .

I especially love the fact that "stuff that kicks my arse" now comes in a handy travel size!!

Outstanding work. I need to up my ownership of Cfit schwag.

Wow, this is so cool.

What better to keep around the garage, barracks, or post? Play a hand or few, go crush a WOD. Really, really neat idea!

IDEA: Every one pick up a few packs and send them to our soldiers who are deployed with a gift box. Its an awesome combo. DO IT! Who's in?

By Ben on June 26, 2008 1:55 PM

Can't wait to get a Hopper Deck! A great tool we can use on Saturdays in our box! One week away. Getting excited yet still a bit nervous.

By Josh Wagner on June 26, 2008 7:50 PM

Very cool.

I definitely want a deck Alex. Let us know when they are coming out.

Can't wait to play Go Fish with Pukie.

What a brilliant idea.

Simple but effective -and executed very well!

Alex - what are the options in terms of getting these in the UK?

That is SICK!

By Jacob Tsypkin on June 27, 2008 4:11 AM

Wow that is a great idea! I can't wait to get one of the decks. Once again CF is way ahead of everybody. I can't wait to see the punishment dealt out on the rower. - Greg

Hey everyone,

We've gotten a few inquiries about wholesale orders from Affiliates that want to sell them at their gym, etc. We've got a plan for this, so drop us a line and we'll get you hooked up.

We tried to keep the deck equipment light to use on the road, but there are a few good Erg workouts in there. We couldn't resist.

I have been using a deck of cards to keep the guy's at the station working out. So every hour everybody pulls a card and has to do what the card equals I have a white board of exercises like Ace equals 3 runs up and down the tower stairs, High Joker 25 burpees and so on. I love it sign me up for two so more stuff for the arsenal. See Ya at the games

Great idea! Will be a good thing to have when away from the computer! Thanks for putting something like this together. Has a price been set yet?
